NBR: Photoshop/editing problem

I am trying to add a logo to an existing photo.  When I've done it in the past, I just paste the logo in and it works just fine.  This time, however, it's pasting in the white background in the logo instead of it being transparent.  WTF? I don't want to magic wand it, because the photo is being blown up super huge and I want the edges to be as crisp as possible.  Is there another way around this?  I added a transparent layer, but it still did it. I feel like I must be missing something obvious, but I can't figure out what it is.  Help!

Re: NBR: Photoshop/editing problem

  • it sounds like you have somehow flattened your logo. I'm guessing it's a jpg image. Last time I checked, those can't be transparent. Look for your logo in another format, maybe then you will find it as transparent.

Oh, I think you're on to something.  They are supposed to be pdf's, but they don't show separate layers.  Off to investigate...

Yep, they were flattened.  I found the originals which are pdf's, so I'll get those loaded and that should do it.  Thank you!!!
