Taking baby in a taxi?

I am wondering, anyone have any anecdotes or experience on how it works/worked to take your baby in a cab?  I am realizing as a 1 car family downtown, the instance might occur where my husband has the car and a trip to the dr. office or something could lead to this scenario.  Just wonder if its doable, assuming the baby will be in the car seat and you'd have to get the cab and then secure in it, of course.

Yeah, practice installing your infant seat with a seatbelt. A couple times and you should be a pro! We're a one car family also, but have (for the most part) been able to avoid this scenario. Good luck!
