Both of my twins need glasses for reading/up close work. Drake needed some help picking out frames, but Allie picked hers out by herself. After trying on some other options, the ones she chose were the best. Thankfully, neither one was upset and they won't need to wear them all the time. The dr said the problem may correct itself as they get older too.
I highly recommend going to the eye dr before kindergarten. I'm sure they'll be better off for it this fall.
Re: So after 2 hrs at the eye dr's
I took them to a regular eye dr. What's a "dr in a box"? Like a eye dr at Walmart or something? I'm quite certain that got a good exam if that's what you're saying. He did check their 3D vision and for color blindness also. Glad to hear your DD also had a good experience and got some needed assistance.
ETA: This is my kids' second eye exam FWIW. They went at 3.5 yo and didn't have any issues at that time.
