2nd Trimester

Anyone going to do a 3D-4D ultrasound?

There is a place called Womb with a View that does 3D/4D ultrasounds of the baby. I think we are going to do it. They have different packages that include a 15-30 min ultrasound, DVD of experience to take home, and 6 color photos. my friend did it and she said it was so amazing to see the baby. They saw him sucking his thumb and sticking his tongue out! How cute. It is a little expensive. $110 + tax for the package I mentioned. They also confirm the gender if you had any doubts. I think it would be worth it for your first baby. Anyone else doing this or have already done it?

  • I didn't with my first baby but I am with this one. The place I am going to is very nice. They have a lot of services for pregnant women including massages, pictures and daddy massages too! They also have a room your family can watch from with comfy couches and a big flat screen. My little brother and sister have a very hard time with my son's death and are very excited for this baby. I can't wait for them to see the baby inside of my belly. I think it is a pretty cool experience.

  • I will get one at my next (and final) u/s on Tuesday. However, it isn't something extra I am paying for; my OB just has the technology. I am SO excited!!!

  • I plan to do it around 27-28 weeks. I'm so happy I had a great a/s, and thus, I don't need follow up u/s for monitoring, and I just can't imagine not seeing the little guy til September! DH thinks the 3D-4D shots look creepy, but he'll do it if I ask him to. I just want to do all these fun things just in case we only are blessed once. Plus, the coolest thing to me are the womb vs real life pics that you see- how much the babies are just like they were in the womb- even the way their hands are by habit and stuff- it's just cool.

  • I am on Monday, but only because my doctor says it's medically necessary to get a better view of LO's umbilical cord/intestines.

  • I had a 3D done with DD and plan on doing the 4D with this LO.
  • We are thinking about it. My husband really wants to do it. It costs $70 for us and the only reason we would do it is to find out the sex 4 weeks early. I can think of other things I need to spend $70 on, but if DH wants to do it, I am sure we will. Otherwise we will just find out at 20 weeks.

  • When do moms to be normally do these ultrasounds?

  • You get the best images of the baby if you go between 26-29 weeks. That way, the baby has developed enough fat so they don't look too skeletal.
  • I am getting one done when i'm 28 wks exactly. I wasn't wanting to do it, but my husband and a few family members keep asking us to do it. So, I'm now looking forward to it. Here, it's $200 for a half hour or so...comes with a DVD, CD and many printed pictures in 3D as well as the black and white. We've been told that we are having a boy, but this will confirm any doubts :-)
  • I did it with my first two boys and will do it again with this one.....it is absolutely amazing!!!

  • We are considering getting one done at 28 weeks. My only concern is that we will be able to figure out the gender by the baby's facial features. We don't want to know the sex of the baby, although I have strong motherly-feeling that I already know the gender, and I am worried that the ultrasound might confirm it. What do you think?!
  • Here it is $160 for a 3D/4D package (they do not do 1/2hrs). You get the 3D pics and a 4D video of the experience. I didn't do it for my son, but this time we are opting for it b/c 1) we want DS to be there for an ultrasound... he is very interested in everything baby and loves looking at the ticker I have and 2) we were very certain we were having a son the first time around and this time we did got a "pretty sure its a girl" so we thought we would confirm (especially before all my family members pass on their little girl stuff to me :).  We are doing this in a few weeks when I am 26 weeks along... can't wait!
