swim diaper ?s

We're getting ready to go on vacation later this month and this will be the first time Micah is at the beach.  We're renting a house for  a week in OBX so we'll be at the beach/pool at least once a day.  I have a few questions about swim diapers:

1. What kind do you use?

2. How many will we need for a week?  

3. How exactly do they work?

I have one Bummis swim diaper.  Do I put a regular cloth diaper on under it?  It seems so thin, I just don't understand how it works.  I know I need some more, I'm just not sure how many more and I'd like to start finding the best deal since we leave in less than a month.  Thanks for your help!

1.  I have an iPlay but haven't used it so can't give a review yet.  I also want to get an Imse Vimse, from what I've heard it's a good one.

2. I plan on having 2.  One to wear and a spare.  If you LO is still having lots of BMs or they aren't very solid yet you may want a few more.

3.  They are only meant to catch solid waste...not pee.  Basically they wear it when in the water only.

They don't hold pee but neither do swimmis. Just there to hold the poop. They work well. The Bummis is ok. I really like the Kushies.

I have 2 iPlay swim diapers. They do what they're supposed to do. They're cheaper than a lot of other stuff I've seen and my Babies R Us carries them in the store, which is nice. The only drawback I've found is they pull on and off, which makes changing poop tricky. I don't know how many you'd need. My son rarely poops in his so I tend to rinse them out and reuse until laundry day. We don't swim everyday, but usually a couple of times a week.
