if you started solids at 4 months...

how did your LO's do with them?

Assuming we get the go-ahead from the pedi, we're going to start solids in a few weeks as "practice". I know everyone says it's a pain in the butt, but I'm really excited about it.

Anywho - did your kiddos like it or were they like WTF, where's my bottle :)

  • They both took to it really well, we just did oatmeal first, then moved to veggies shortly after.  I was surprised by how quickly they learned to open up for the spoon.  The first few tries were a bit of a mess though.

  • lol... i started mine close to 5 mos. At first they had no idea but they did pretty good with it. Alot of pushing out with tongue. I only gave them a tiny bit of cereal to start. A few days later they were experts!

I'm with you, right now it's fun. I actually look fwd to it most days. I'm sure once they start throwing food at me i won't like it too much lol. Your pic is adorable!

    thanks momma ;)

I am reallllly looking forward to it. It's kind of sick how excited I am :P

Once the throwing commences I'm sure I'll love having a lab. Right now the damn dog is just one more thing to take care of during the day!

  • We started at 4 Months. D loved it opened his mouth after first few bites. W wanted nothing to do with it, so I didnt push him just would feed D and almost a month later he decided he wanted food and loves it now. Although sometimes if W sees the bottle I mixed cereal with he wants it, so I hide it til after he eats then give him some.

I did cereal with a bit of bananna or sweet potato mixed in at first them after a month I started making own fruit/veggie and now do them seperate.

  • We practice almost everyday and Both are starting to open their mouths for it after about 5 days. Only thing is, they're over their bumbos and don't want to sit after 5-10 mins

  • They hated rice cereal and refused it. Oatmeal, too.  And veggies.

The started liking fruit at 6 months.

I wish I would have waited until 6 months, because months 4-6 were a PITA!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • We started at 4 months and quickly stopped. They weren't ready. Too much tongue thrust going on and they just weren't interested at all. We started back up at 5.5 months with MUCH better success. Some days are still a frigging messy disaster and other days they gobble up everything with little mess. Good luck! It's fun but much more of a PITA than bottles.

  • My twins are 4 1/2 months. We started right at 4 months because I need them to sleep more. We do cereal mixed with veggies. One was ready, one was not. We just keep giving the one that isn't quite ready just a little bit.
  • We started cereal at 4 months, they both liked it (there hasn't been anything they haven't liked yet!), but rice made Keira gassy, so we switched to oatmeal.  We started fruits and veggies around 5.5 months.  My girls LOVE solids!!  I think it's fun too esp. now that they can eat more stuff - they get so excited and look so cute with a messy food covered faces!

  • They wereinto it from the start!  It was messy and silly but fun, and they thought it was a game.  Grabbing the spoon, their bibs, etc. And I always did it about 45 min after they BF'd, so they weren't too pissed that it wasn't boob.
