time frame for invites

When should I send out party invites? It's mostly close friends and family, but it's near the 4th of July so I wanted to give people the heads up of the party date. 6 weeks, 3 weeks? I have no idea.

E's is around a holiday too so I am doing 3-4 weeks.

I would do 3-4 weekd if it's near a celebration. You can at least verbally tell people now to  save the date though!

That's the timeframe we usually use.  I'd verbally tell folks who would definitely want to be there like grandparents and such.
