Thoughts on this stroller?

I know I'm not very far along but I am so excited about getting a stroller for some reason. Specifically, a jogging stroller since I love to run.

So what does everyone think of the Baby Trend Expedition ELX jogger? I'm not a huge stroller/car seat snob so I'm just wondering if any other moms out there have any raves or rants that I haven't already heard about this stroller. We tested it out at Babies R Us and loved it so far. Plus it's very affordable!

Thanks everyone!

Re: Thoughts on this stroller?

  • We have an older Baby Trend jogger and it definitely does the trick w/out all the bells and whistles. I am not a huge runner though so someone who is may have a different opinion. I have also heard good things about the Jeep Jogging stroller (not the all terrain /swivel wheel) which is definitely a less expensive option than the Bob or Baby Jogger.

  • We have the Sonic one (w/ the built in speakers) and we like it. Obviously I'm still pregnant, but I've used them on walks because two of my friends have the Baby Trend Expeditions.

However, we also own the Bumbleride Indie and there is no comparison between quality. The Indie meaneuvers easier, is easier to use/fold up (no built in tray) and just has a lot of perks in general. We got the Baby Trend though for running because the Bumbleride says it should only be used for light jogging once in a while and we don't want to wear it out since it's a nice stroller. We also have a lot of trails/non-sidewalk areas near our home and wanted the Baby Trend because we wouldn't worry about getting it dirty/taking it in the paths in the woods, etc.

If you don't want to spend a lot I say go for it. I definitely prefer the Bumbleride but for the price of the Baby Trend, you really can't go wrong. I've read in reviews that the front wheel can get wobbly at times when jogging (my friend had this issue, but her husband just adjusted/tightened it and it was fine).

  • We were looking at at Baby Trend jogger double ( I thought it was this one, but may be mistaken), anyway the only problem is it only works with Baby Trend infant carriers (if this is the one that is compatible with the infant carriers).  So you may want to check into that if you plan on using your infant carrier with the stroller.  We already have a Chicco infant carrier and I'm really happy with it.  I looked at it at BRU though and it looks like a really nice stroller.
