silly question on when to test

So.. I have kind of a silly Question. On Tuesday morning I got a smiley face on my OPK. Hubby and I BD'd and continue to do so, to have all our basis covered. :D Now, according to when I got my period last, I should be getting it on May 5th. Do I still wait the 2 weeks after my O to check? Or do I start testing on or after the 5th when i am supposed to get my period. I also have PCOS so actually i probably won't even get my period as irregular as they are. I had to take provera. I guess my question is when do i start testing for pg???

    Well since it is not really when your last period started that determines when the next will start... really it is how long your LP is after you O that determines when your period is due... I would say test no sooner than 10DPO if you want to test early.  If you can wait a little longer, test at 14-16DPO.  Just my suggestion though.

    +#2 Tx cycle 4 - 5 mg Letrozole + 75iu Follsitim & Ovidrel w/ IUI on 11/13/12 - EDD 7/23/13 
    7 week u/s revealed THREE babies, all with heartbeats.  153bpm, 148bpm, and 136bpm
    9 week u/s revealed loss of Baby B.  A and C are growing on track.  A measuring 9w1d with 172bpm and C measuring 9w0d with 179 bpm.  
    Elective sex determination u/s on 2/8 revealed... boy AND girl!

    If you do test early don't be upset if you get a bfn! The month I got pg with DD I tested at 12 dpo and it was negative. I thought I was done but my chart was still looking good. On 14 dpo everyone on the board kept telling me to poas because my temps were still high but I didnt want to get my hopes up. I ended up caving at 6pm and poas and got my bfp! So don't get down if you test early!

    I guess this is why charting is so important. I would test only if my period was late and its been after my longest LP. If you actually think your period is due on the 5th, I would test after that. BFNs are no fun, IMO. Good luck.

    well, that is why I am asking. I don't get my period. My doc gave me provera to induce it. which worked, i took the clomid, i "think" i got my smiley face, as it only came once. so we bd'd. This is why i am confused as to when to check. I really don't have a cycle ever. And this is my first month with a period, with ovulating etc...

    Wait 10dpo then test....if it's a BFN  I would say wait another week then test again.  GL hope you get a BFP!
