If this is too personal don't answer, but I am wondering how long it typically takes to get your period again after you started breastfeeding. Did it only start again after you weaned? Did you get it while BFing? I feel crampy (like period crampy) but I am still bfing.

i am still bfing and no AF yet. I had a friend who didn't get hers until she stopped bfing when her dd was 18 months. But I am heard of others getting it ealier.

I gt mine back while I was stii EBF...it eas at 3.5 months pp.  I had no symptoms that it was coming

You never know. Some women don't get it until they wean; others get it just a couple months postpartum.

I'm still breastfeeding and haven't gotten my period yet.

I think the general rule is the more you nurse, the less likely you'll get your period - DS is still nursing all the time, so no period over here...

I got mine at about 7 months, when DD started to nurse less and eat more solid foods.  I couldn't believe it...it was like I was 12 again.  I was in total shock, and I laughed when I told my husband, "guess who just moved back in??".  LOL.

Two full months after I stopped BF.  I'm not sure if this matters, but I had an oversupply and it took forever to dry up.

she seems to have come back today   still nursing, constantly it seems.  i ve felt crampy off and on but had felt that way before too.

i haven't gotten AF yet and i weaned about 1 month ago although i have an oversupply problem and still bf once in a while.

I just got mine a couple of days ago... she's been sleeping a little longer and not nursing as much.  I am trying unsuccessfully to wean her.

I stopped BF'ing completely about a month ago and was only doing mornings and nights for the month before that. I still haven't had my period. I had some spotting and occasional cramping, but no period.

I think it's kind of a crapshoot as to when you'll get it, personally. I got it at 9 mo pp with DS. He was eating some solids at that point and sleeping longer stretches at night. I had no idea it was coming though.

I just got it Friday (6 months pp) and DD is not on any solids and is nowhere near STTN. I had no idea it was coming this time either.

EBF and AF showed up just before DS turned 5 months old.

Never got it.  I started feeling like I would several months ago, but it never came.  And now that I'm knocked up again, I'll never know when I would have.

I got my first pp period when my daughter was 3 1/2 months old.  I was also ebf.

DS is 10.5 months old and I just got my first PP AF last Sunday.  I recently started weaning him by cutting out one of our nursing sessions.  I think that's what did it.  I did not feel crampy, but I noticed an increase in discharge (TMI) for a few days prior to AF's return.

It's different for everyone though.  With my first DS AF returned at 7 months PP.  A friend of mine who has been exclusively BFing got her first AF only a month after her baby was born.  Poor thing!
