In Georgia, birthmoms can give consent 24 hours after birth (at least in agency adoptions) and there is a 10 day revocation period. If the 10th day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, then it goes until the next business day.

As a BM, I can tell you that BM can sign consent to release parental custody at 24 hours AFTER being off all medication (including pain & epidural). Then they have 10 days to revoke that right just as amm states.
I used Bethany Christian Services for K's adoption. Let me know if you have any questions regarding a BM's experience.
i'm very interested, too, in all that anyone has to share - i know some info might be better via pm...but tia for any info - we are in georgia and considering options.
I just wanted to add that they can sign 24 hours after a regular delivery or 48 hours after a C-section. After that, they have 10 days to change their mind.
Re: Adoption in GA

I know the waiting period in GA is 10 days after the bm signs. That's really all I know...sorry I'm not much help at all!
What kind of information are you looking for?
