Post-birth attire

What are you going to wear in the hospital after you give birth?  I am all about my tank tops and pajama pants when I'm at home, but with people visting at the hospital I would like to be a little more covered up.

Re: Post-birth attire

  • I'm rocking the grandma nighties from walmart. They are the softest cotton & have really easy button down front for easy breastfeeding. Sure, they are covered in pastel floral prints and are totally tacky, but they are so comfortable, and cover a lot!

My mom bought me 2 sets of nursing nightgowns with matching robes when I was PG with DS.    I plan on using them again when I'm on the post partum ward.   I only wore them during the day.   At night, I wore the hospital gown in case the pad shifted while I was sleeping.   I didn't want to leak blood on my stuff!

  • I'll wait and see what other people suggest, but I'm thinking yoga pants and nursing tanks.  It doesn't bother me to wear yoga pants and "wife beater" tanks around the house on weekends when people stop by so I want to be comfortable at the hospital too.
  • I had my son at 6 pm and wore the gown that night. The next morning I took a shower and put on a nursing bra, nursing tank, and yoga type pants. I'd throw on an unzipped hoodie over the tank when I had visitors or walked down to see DS (he was in special care for a bit).

I imagine if you have a C/S anything with a waistband may be uncomfortable, so a gown could be preferable.

  • I'm planning on wearing yoga pants and nursing tanks. I also have a lightweight robe that I can throw on over my tank if we have visitors and I want to cover up.

  • My plan is a nursing sleep bra, the gown and maybe some yoga pants.
  • I am having a c-section so I will try to wear pj's and a nursing top, but I am going to go to Ross or somthing to find a couple nightgowns for the night time b/c they check everything alot.
