Thoughts on this name? It's growing on me for a boy - although I feel like I have to specify it is a boy name and that bothers me a bit.

I always thought it was short for Aristotle (boys). Maybe that' sjust my imagination, though. I never heard it used as a nn for a girl. Interesting.
I like the name, but I'm not Jewish so I'd feel weird using it.

I know a girl called Ari, short for Ariadne. So yea, its too feminine in my opinion for a boy.
This. I live in a very Jewish area so it's normal to see men named Ari and Ariel but if it's not normal where you live I wouldn't do it.
Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
LOVE it!
I love the combined meaning in both Hebrew (Lion), and Old Norse (Eagle). It makes me view this name as quite regal. Yet it's so short, that it almost seems humble and unassuming.
