Pros and Cons to it? I'm thinking about having it installed, but I'm afraid they'll shut off the a/c and we'll be in a sweat box. I know I'm being dramatic,
Please tell me the pros and cons to the program.

We have it. We had signed up in the fall of 2009. So, for summer of 2010 we only got cycled 2x for maybe 2 hours tops. Yes, it got a bit warm, but, it wasn't horrible. You can pick your percentage of cycling and the credit is based on which percentage you choose. I like having the programmable thermostats...it's a nice thing to have.
I love it. I only saw one time that we cycled last year. I will admit that we only noticed it because it turned out that our AC was broken. DH is like his own sweat house so if he doesn't notice it, I would say if doesn't change much. I love that you can go online and change the settings too. When our AC broke we had a close friend fix it while we were at work. When he was done, I told him to just leave the thermostat and I adjusted it from work. It was nive and cool when we got home.

We received a notice from them that if we did not sign up for Peak Rewards (after other letters trying to get us to sign up for it previously), they would install a switch on the outside of our unit so that they could physically turn it off. I thought that was pretty much the strangest thing I had ever heard.
But we did look into it and it seemed worth it to sign up. We haven't had it over the summer yet though, so I hope it isn't too bad. One reason I was apprehensive was with DS last summer - I didn't want to be in a sweltering house with an infant because of cycling. But it doesn't seem like it happens often, from the people that we talked to.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too!
It's FREE and EASY!
We signed up for it, mainly because I wanted the new thermostat. I love that you can control your thermostat online, so if you go away and forget to adjust the thermostat you can do it from any computer!
Re: NTR: Does anyone use BGE Peak Rewards?
LOL! Thanks ladies! I think I will sign up. I would love to save some money on my bill.
