Where to look for pre-school reviews?

I'm having such a hard time finding a school for Ryan next fall.  My top two choices aren't going to work out:  (first choice only offers pm session and second choice's a.m session was full before enrollment even opened due to returning students so pm is available).   I've called a few others that I found on google but how do you know what they're really like without visiting them all?   There are a few "big" ones around here but they're also $400/month and I'm sorry but that just seems like a lot of money for 3 days per week for 3 hours/day.

 

Sooo does anyone have any advice?

Unfortunately the only advice I have is to go view them. The $400/month doesn't sound too bad when it breaks down to about $33/day but it is all relative. E will be in preschool/discovery classes and hers are $175/week. I called about 20 schools, and had to view about a dozen schools before I found the 2 that I loved. Those were the ones that I had DH visit with me to make the final determination. I know you are a SAHM, but would it be possible to take Ryan to go visit some of them?

how do you even find 20 preschools to visit? I found a lot of daycare centers - I assumed those were 2 different things???

that is assuming you are on the peninsula. it's not a comprehensive list, but it's a start. it's also not a review place either.

I just clicked on the schools and looked at the pictures and read info/philosophy etc until I found some places I wanted to go check out.

then i took off places that didn't want my kid to come with me. 

we are going with a place that isn't on the list. I think... we're still deciding on swedish school
