Swordfish ok?

I can't find the info on safe seafood so I thought I'd ask... Is swordfish steak ok to eat while preg? It's on sale at publix & I haven't had it in years

Swordfish is in the high mercury category.  I, personally, would avoid it.

Thanks! Though I'm disappointed may have to just buy & keep in the freezer til after baby comes.

Swordfish is actually one of the only fish to be on the never eat list

It's technically on the "no no list," as are all big fish, but I say go for it...just don't have a lot and don't have it often.  I'm pretty moderate when it comes to the "no no list" though, so you may not want to listen to me.

My doc lists it as a firm no.  It's too bad because it's one of my favorite fish.  Enjoy once the baby comes!

Thanks ladies. It just sucks bc the only seafood I like is salmon & swordfish... So guess I'm stuck with salmon for now!

I know it's a "no" fish. But honestly, I find it hard to believe that a baby will be deformed by consuming it once! You'd be fine if you really want it, and you ate it for dinner this one time. I just wouldn't make a habit of it.
