Another Diaper Bag Question --

I am looking at a diaper bag that can also double as my purse. I always carry a crossbody purse, so I would LOVE a diaper bag that does the same. I love having both hands free.

I am currently looking at the Ju Ju Be BFF (which has the strap to be a messenger) or the Skip Hop Via Messenger BUT if you all had any suggestions on a bag thats a messenger/crossbody, that can double as a mommy bag for my wallet/keys, etc. (I actually don't carry much for myself usually, wallet, keys, water bottle, a pen or two...) so I don't need much but I would love it to NOT have to carry two bags. I would GREATLY appreciate!

Re: Another Diaper Bag Question --

  • I got myself this one. https://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=4438444

I liked that it had enough space for 2 kids stuff. And the front flap (with the pattern) flips up and has card holders and pockets for all my stuff. I don't carry much with me either and hated the idea of a diaper bag and a purse too.

I had this one with just DD https://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3227198

I found it more then perfect for just her. And there is a really nice front zip pocket for wallet, a thing for your keys to hook onto however i used a carabeener on the strap cause it was easier to hit the unlock button on my keys then try and pull them out of a pocket. Plus there is a cell phone pocket on the front too.

I don't not like it anymore. But since this is my second child i'm not having a shower. So i wanted to treat myself to something new and a little more space. I haven't found all the bells and whistles of the J.J. Cole. But it does have fancy straps for attaching it to the stroller which i plan to play with when we put together the double stroller in a couple weeks.

    Hope this helps.

  • i've got the jjb bff and it works great for me. i can hold the little bit of mommy stuff i have and all dd's stuff.

i just don't take it out if i'm by myself because it's kinda big for just a "purse" function. the jjb beall is another good option as a messenger bag too, but i like the bff because it's a little bigger.

the skip hop messenger bag would work, but if you ever go out by yourself, again you run into the fact that it's a bit for just a purse function.

most of the diaper bags out there now are designed with a "mommy pocket", including jjb and skip hop so you really don't need to worry about carrying two bags anymore

Oh I didn't even LOOK at the Be All! I think I like that a lot more, for size.  My husband could also carry that sucker. The BFF I love how it opens, but I just watched a youtube video that compared the Be All to BFF and for size I think Be All is nice. Though both are nice to me. :p Amazing how one thing can be so difficult to make a decision on.

  • I agree, I think the BFF would be too big to just carry as a purse without baby. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do, but I know I won't carry a purse AND a diaper bag. I guess I'd just grab my wallet, keys, cell, etc, and toss them in the diaper bag when out with the baby.

I got a fairly cheap ($40) JJ Cole bag to use for now, but at some point I'd love to get the JJB Be All. I just don't think I can justify the cost yet, though, b/c I don't know how much stuff I can carry! This is the one I got. It was $40 on sale in the store. It's not super nice, but I think it will do for now, until I decide what I really want in a diaper bag

I did also get this one off BabySteals, also $40, because I was being totally impulsive and figured at some point I'm going to want a smaller grab and go bag. image
