Hehe, I just posted about mine in Hershey's post. I either give them Sue or Zork. Zork is DH's old hacker handle when he was an up-to-no-good teenager, and we both use it for stuff like coffee shops now because it works with our initials (Z or K = Zork).

"Ali" I always thought I didn't really care how it was spelled until Starbucks baristas started spelling it "Alley." Like, seriously?? You think someone is named "Alley" like where people dump trash and do sideways drug deals?? lol -I got kinda offended for my secret identity.
If I'm anywhere w/DH then he knows to automatically step up and volunteer his name. Cause even though they sometimes butcher his name at least it's still recognizable as a name and he doesn't have to spell it and repeat it to them several times.
Oh, unless we're in a Mexican restaurant. Then I always give my real first name.

I LOVE this. I have a super common name that no one can spell. I use it, people misspell it, I laugh. Once someone spelled Sarah as Serra. Like Junipero.
I always give "Stefanie" but it's of course always spelled Stephanie, at least. Frequently, I get Bethany. I've also gotten Stepheny, Stefeny, Stefany, Stefani, etc...Stephanie, I understand...but the others do surprise me.
I also think it's funny - maybe b/c I've always had a unique spelling, it really doesn't bother me to see it spelled wrong and I NEVER correct people unless it's for something important...but my H will correct it. And he spells out his name - Todd. Like, if we're putting our name in to be seated at a restaurant, and I give my name, he'll pop up behind me and say, "with an F"...and if he gives his name, he always says, "Todd...T-O-D-D." I tease him about it - like, is there another way to spell Todd? And sure enough, the time he didn't tell them how to spell it and we watched it get written down, she wrote, "Tod"...too funny. Tod? Really??
I mostly use my real name but when it's really busy, I become Max, which most people get right the first time and you can hear it when they call out your name.
Max is a misspelling of my niece's (Mackenzie) nickname so it's (almost) legit.
Katie. I live in a small town and people know each other so I can't really get away with a fake name. Just the other day I went to Sbux (really, I go maybe once a month at most before work) and I didn't give my name, but when I picked up my coffee it said "Katie". So someone knew me there but I didn't recognize them, and then I spent the next hour trying to figure out who it was and if they thought I was rude because I didn't say hi.
I go crazy and don't correct them when they don't use an 'h'. ;-) My theory is the person writing it uses the spelling of the person they know with the same name.

I use a variety depending upon my mood, not because they can't spell or pronounce it but since it's Jennifer there would be 10 people standing up. Amy tends to be my main go to, but sometimes I just make *** up.
