$$$$$

Gas is almost $4/gallon and we have spent almost $400 in groceries in the last week (granted, we are hosting my ILs for the week and that also includes Easter dinner expenses, but still). Is J old enough for a PT job? Stick out tongue

Re: $$$$$

  • I've been struggling with the gas prices and groceries. I already had to up the amount I budget for both, and I still can't seem to stay within our budget. I wish there was a light at the end of the tunnel:(

  • Yes, it's getting ridiculous. So much for having a ton of fun, this summer. At this rate, we'll be sitting in our dimly lit, sweltering hot house, eating Ramen noodles and making shadow puppets by flashlight. Wink
  • You can pull up a chair with us around our new ac unit. You'll have to BYOB though. We have a kiddie pool too. That's all the entertainment we'll be affording this summer! :-/

  • No lie.  It's getting ridiculous.  I'm lucky that DH doesn't work, so we save on gas $ that way, but filling up my van is $60+ and groceries are off the hook.  DS has to get potty trained soon so we can put diaper $ towards gas $!  LOL

  • It hurts my stomach to think about it. Our current test to see if we could try living on one income is coming at a bad time. Or maybe it's a good time if things stay at this rate which I have a sickening feeling is going to happen.

  • Gas prices are freaking outrageous. I don't like to think about them. I keep telling charlie that we could actually save money by moving to DC, because then we wouldn't really have to drive, but he's not buying it :p

  • I went to Kroger today and got gas, and was able to use the $1.00 off reward.  I kept waiting for the price per gallon to change before I started pumping, and then sheepishly realized that $2.99 per gallon was the CHEAP price.  Crying

  • I hear you.  I just spent twice as much as I planned buying groceries for Arlo's birthday party on Saturday.  I spent at least $25 just on berries for a fruit salad!

We are going to Georgia next week with DH for work and if his company were to reimburse us for mileage AND gas, driving would cost more than the price of a plane ticket!

  • I love how Kroger tries to trick you by putting those dumb "Low Price" signs all over the shelves even though the prices are all higher than two weeks ago.  Things like that make me so mad.  I buy pretty much the same items every week.  You can't trick me that easily, Kroger.
  • P&G came out saying they are raising all of their prices too.  So glad we're CDing this time around.

I'm not a fan of gas being so high either.  Too bad the governor denied the train system, it would have helped us out a ton here.

Krogers is getting bad with the price hikes too, but I hate going to Meijers instead.
