I thought I'd just check. My feet seem to have started swelling a little. Not much but noticeable. At this stage in the game (32 weeks) this is normal right?
Yep. Normal. It really helps if you can elevate your feet. If you are home an otoman is great. My swelling went down much more quickly than when I prop my feet up on the waste basket under the desk at my office.

Absolutely. And lots and lots of water is supposed to help along with keeping elevated. But when I got super puffy when on vacation in the heat, all the water did was make me pee more, didn't help my swelling.

I have yet to see the drinking more fluids suggestion actually help, I just spend more time making trips to the bathroom. Last night my calves were huge...it was pretty.
I prop my feet up under my desk at work on my CPU tower. That's about as high as I can get them without laying down! I keep drinking water too. And at night, I will sometimes ice my feet/ankles while elevating them. I don't know if the ice helps, but it feels good!

I just started about 2 weeks ago; I'm almost 34 weeks now.
Drink lots of water, and watch your salt intake. Oh, and I have been told that if you're not elevating your feel above your heart then you're not doing anything to help the swelling. I do prop mine up on my trash can at work; I don?t think it helps though. Ankle rolls help. My feel and ankles are so sore. My ankles feel bruised and it hurts to try to spread my toes.

We've been having crazy weather lately and we haven't had any heat/ac on. It got down to 57 in the house and as cold as it was for my poor piggies, they definitely went down to normal size for a few days!

I'm not convinced that the water helps either - only because I already drink sooooo much of it already, anymore and I might as well just move into the bathroom. It's also 80 degrees here in Cambridge, MA right now so I'm sure that's not helping matters. The bags of ice sound really good right now : )
Here in the snowy 40 degree weather, I have minimal swelling, only when i'm up more than I am supposed to be. Back in Sacramento when it was 80+ degrees, the swelling went up to my thighs! It was painful. My SIL is an RN and she made me see the doctor about it. The cold definitely helps, so the ice might!
The only thing you want to be careful of is to make sure the swelling doesn't get bad fast. I thought swelling was no big deal in my last pregnancy and I just happened to call the Doc to make sure it was OK. They actually wanted to see me right away just to do a quick blood pressure check and urine check for protien. You may want to call your doctor just to be on the safe side.
I started to feel swollen yesterday but just my hands when I was walking around the mall. I looked at my hands and they were poofy! Yikes. Some swelling is normal just as long as it goes away.

Re: so stupid but . . . Swelling question
good to know! I have my feet propped up on a small toner box under my desk, might be time to graduate to something larger.
Thank you!
Your welcome. Everyone kept telling me to prop my feet up but I saw no results. What people forget to say is the higher the better!
