I understand the occassional ARD during your conference, but as a teacher, they are not allowed to schedule other duties (on a regular basis) during your time.  I know that people don't like to complain, especially now with layoffs and such (I am not confrontational at all), but do you have a dept. head you could address this with? 

We are moving to a 9-period day next year (lunch is a period b/c we will have 3 different lunches--don't get me started on that), so our nice block conference period is getting cut in half to a 45-min planning period.  We are going from teaching 6 classes to teaching 7 classes.  Our principal made sure that he wasn't violating any laws by cutting our conference time down.
