Pregnant after a Loss

Bladder Bongo?

So I'm 20-weeks this week and the past couple of days it feels like my little girl is playing the bongo on my bladder.  What I can't tell is if it is her moving around and constantly kicking it or if my bladder is spasming; It does not feel good though.

It is too early for her to be kicking the crap out of my bladder and isn't she too little to cause it to hurt from her kicking or pushing it?   Is or has anyone else had this problem?  We have an u/s today so I might ask what her position is, but I thought I would just ask on here too.

Re: Bladder Bongo?

  • All day every day!!!!  My LO moves a lot sometimes s/he is head down sometimes butt down.  But s/he does not like for my bladder to be full at all.  It gets to that point and right away s/he starts kicking and punching it.  It is very uncomfy... Sorry I think we are just in for it at this point...

  • I was at about your point when my LO decided to punch my bladder whenever it started to get full.  He learned quickly that repeated punching would make me go empty it.  He also has had the hiccups and headbutted it repeatedly.  If you're getting rhythmic punches, it's likely hiccups.

  • Thanks, ladies.  I started to wonder if my bladder was trying to escape or if the baby was just upset that I'm drinking too much fluid.  Sounds like she is just not happy when it starts encroaching on her space.

Maybe last night it was hiccups then - it was nonstop for like 15 minutes pretty rhythmically.  Not fun.
