I did it today but the two places I stopped at, I parked next to the cart corral and brought a cart to my car so I could just put the carseat in the cart. It didn't really hurt to lift her out of my car (Xterra) but I was cautious since it was my first time carrying her.?
Yikes. I'm almost at 3 weeks PP and I haven't tried it yet. Just lifting him is painful for me.
I must have had some complications during surgery that my Dr isn't telling me, because the surgery was longer than they expected, my excruciating pain lasted 3 days longer than my pain meds (and when I called for a refill Doc said no, but made me go in to check for infection).
I'm still in pain if I do too much, so I was told to not lift him in the carrier until 4 weeks.
I started lifting it at 2 weeks. Olivia was over 8lbs at birth and we have a big Graco carseat, so I didn't want to overdo it. I was fine carrying her tho. ~A

I started carrying the baby in the car seat right at 2 weeks when I was able to drive again. I know I was overdoing it then b/c my incision was really sore. Now at 4 weeks pp, I don't feel any pain after carrying the baby in the car seat.
My dr made a big point of me not doing it until 6 weeks pp. I did at 5 weeks but only very short distances - garage door to car, etc. He said it would impede the internal healing.
