Update on co-worker's adoption

The beautiful baby boy was born on Friday and my colleague was holding him within minutes. 

According to the adoption counselors the birth mother has no second thoughts about the adoption and considers it final even though she has until Friday to change her mind. The birth mother is in college and didn't realize she was pregnant until she was 30 weeks along.

I am so thrilled for my friend and while it seems the birth mother just wants to put the pregnancy behind her, I do hope she has peace with her decision.

How wonderful! I'm sure Friday can't come soon enough! On a side note - how is the baby? College student not aware of pregnancy until 30 weeks makes me a little concerned for how she took care of herself.

How wonderful for the new parents. I'm happy that the bio mom isn't having second thoughts. I hope she realizes what a great gift of loving parents she is giving her child.

Yeah - that is what I thought. She is an athlete so she takes really good care of herself and no drugs/alcohol. Almost seems too good to be true.

Good for your friend! I can't believe someone would make it to 30 weeks w/o noticing. It's great that the baby will have a smarter, more responsible mom!
