DH is pretty sure he's going to apply for a position with a new company. He was forever a consultant with the company that he just recently decided to hire on with, so I carry our insurance through the university where I do research. Even when he became in employee, my insurance options were better than his.
I haven't always been very supportive of him applying to the new-new company, because he's really doing it to get in in our current location and then hopes to get to move to one of their other campuses, where he really wants to live next (and I promised years ago I'd move there, I'm just not really keen on moving, I love our house, our friends, etc.). Also because the guy who owns the company he works for now has been a
friend for years, but I don't think he's the kind of guy who'd still be a
good friend if DH jumped ship (it's only a 5-man company), and I'd miss
them. I was starting to warm to it, though, because I'm irritated in my current main job and I am starting to see the awesome new opportunities for my side singing jobs, too. And great schools for DS.
But yesterday, it occurred to me to look at the list of big corporations and how much IF coverage they pay for. OMG, they pay for IUI x 3 *and* IVF x 3. Guess who's now on the bandwagon for him to switch companies. I think if IVF were covered in the cost of our insurance, he'd be willing to go that way, and my RE has maintained from Day 1 that we are perfect IVF candidates, I don't think he's just trying to earn more money (our ages make the big difference here).
Last evening, he had dinner with a friend who has worked for his current company and left about 4 years ago to work for the new-new company. The friend really loves the company and thinks he can help DH find a great position there.
Fingers crossed so hard.

TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!
Fingers crossed for you! (Seriously though, with your DHs job situation, the moving, the friend issues, the school issues...so much of our lives seem so similiar, it's kind of creepy. Are you sure you're not me? In a parallel universe or something?) =-D
