I've of course been charting my bbts for months now and was just wondering if any of you still saw or know if I will still see a slight dip in the luteal phase when a successful implantation occurs? At around 7 days after I ovulated I saw a decline a little below 98.0 for a couple days then today it went back up past 98.0. Does this mean I am mostly likely not preg or am I overanalyzing? I was comparing last month's chart and it did the same thing with the dip in temperatur, so I took that to be discouraging news. Anyway, I am interested in feedback regarding how your chart differered the month you conceived from the others. I seriously think if I am not preggo this month I going to go insane. SERIOUSLY - THE WAITING GAME IS KILLING ME!!!! Ugh, testing tomorrow as it will be 10 past ovulation - using the 6 day early test... thanks for your input ![]()
Re: Basal Body Temps when Conception in Successful??
I am seven weeks pregnant and I had no implantation dip. My temp just steadily went up.
Make a pregnancy ticker
My husband and I have been using Natural Family Planning, which involves charting of daily temps along with other bodily signs to determine ovulation, etc. The day after we conceived, my temp rose to the 98s and has stayed there for the whole time. The lowest time I've had since conceiving was 97.95 but what a "rise" for you will look depends on your normal temps. I have low thyroid function, so my temps are generally low. Anything in the 98s is high for me.
The general rule of thumb in NFP is that if your temps have spiked and stayed up for 14 days post-ovulation, then you are probably pregnant! If you want to learn more about reading your charts, The Art of Natural Family Planning is quite good. Good luck!
I am probably not much help with your actual question, but my doctor actually told me to lay off the charting for a bit because it was stressing me out. She said the stress was probably not worth it. I started using just the ovulation predictor kits and a little app for my phone instead (PinkPad...fabulous!). It was much less stressful for me, and a few months later, we were pregnant. Hang in there! And, good luck!
Do you have your BFP chart? If so could I see? I had a slight dip today...and hoping its a good sign and it raises back up the next few days.
From my experience, implantation dips and spotting are very rare and really you can only call it once you have a positive pregnancy test.
BBT's vary so much that it's hard to be sure of any pattern until its in retrospect
