The names we both like are pretty popular ones...we need a two syllable name that can not be easily shortened. We like William but we would like to avoid Will. We have a short last name that rhymes with Deal.
Noah (thinking Noah James)
Connor
Logan

Since it's for your MN I'm assuming than William would be fine. Most people don't shorten MN unless they are going by them. I personally love William and it's one our top choices for a MN only because we don't want it shortened to Will, Willy or Bill.

Re: It's a boy...
Looks like we've got pretty similar taste. I've got a short last name that rhymes with Black, so I've been also looking for the two-syllable names.
Also on my list are:
Collin
Mason
Emmett
Ian
I like Connor. Some others you might like ...
Aaron
Owen
Adam
Brendan/Brennan
Evan
Jared
Garrett
Holden
Ian
Nolan
Wyatt
Carter/Carson
Gavin
Trevor
Keegan
Levi
Declan
Love Collin! It's on my list but I don't know about DH

I like Noah a lot!
I've never been a fan of Logan or Connor for some reason, but there's nothing wrong with them either.
LOVE Noah James.
If you like William, have you considered Liam as a NN? It's not one-syllable, so it flows better with your LN.
I prefer Logan, personally. Logan James was on our list for a while.
