re-using diaper pail, how to clean really good?

we'll be re-using the diaper geenie we used for dd and I'm wondering what we can do to clean it really really good so there are no left over smells or germs when we bring it back into the house.  Just bleach water (and how long do you let it soak) or do you have other tried and true suggestions? tia

  • Scrub with Lysol or a bleach solution, rinse and leave out in the sun to dry for a few hours.

  • Bleach and hot water. rinse out and let it dry in the sun. Should be fine. If you are not a fan of bleach, try pinsol, lyson or even a vinegar rinse.

  • In order to completely disenfect, a bleach - water solution of 1/4 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water should be allowed to sit/soak for AT LEAST 10 minutes. (I work at a preschool and we do this to our toys daily!) Then, rinse off with cool water and allow to air dry.
