advice on nipple stimulation please

I would call myself more of a non-believer in "natural labor inducers" simply because for the past 4 wks I have been under 2cm and 0% effaced while having sex, walking walking walking, and drinking rasberry leaf tea. 

I want to know if any of you have tried nipple stimulation and if it's a bad idea or just another "why not" try it methods.  To be honest I'm a little scared to try it, I just want to make sure before I do that I can't harm myself or LO through this action.

Well I have a funny story...I'm also not a real believer in natural labor inducers either b/c I was trying everything for weeks and being 3 cm dilated and nothing!  Well on Saturday night after my fiance and I got home from family dinner, we sat down on the couch at about 9:20.  I told him to play with my nipples to stimulate labor, and he replied, "that's not gonna work, she's not gonna come till she's ready, but I'll play with your nipples!"  So he started to roll my right one in between his index finger and thumb while we were watching tv.  Literally less than 5 minutes later, I felt a gush and my water had broke!  I told him, "I told you!"  I don't know if it really worked or if it was coincidence, but I'm sitting here typing this story as my sweet baby girl is sleeping next to me!  Good luck!

I Think Im going to Have to try this!! Did you have any contractions at all before your water broke?

I tried it (pumping 5 minutes, stopping for 5, 5 more minutes) at 40w and 40w3d and nothing happened.  My water started leaking at 40w5d but I had no contractions so I pumped then and the nipple stim helped my contractions start...

it can't hurt, but it didn't work for me.

I was 3cm and 80% effaced and tried using my pump for nipple stimulation and it did nothing!

Just an update, it has done absolutely nothing for me either haha  oh well at least I know what it feels like to use the pump now

Well, let me tell you all this... I read this post right before I went to bed. I laid down and started stimulating my nipples until I feel asleep. Contractions came and then at 1a my water broke! I'm in LDR now.

I was definitely a skeptic myself as well. however, my MW recommended it, so I gave it a try. rolling each nipple between my fingers for 5 minutes each and then a 5 minute break inbetween. I immediatly started having contractions and my LO was here 30 hours later!
