when did you have first pics made of lo?

How old was you lo when you had his/her first pics made? I wanted to get his pics made earlier but it looks like it isn't happening until this Friday when he will be a few days over a month. Any advice on how to get lo in the "mood" for the session? I'm guessing it will be a little more difficult now that he stays awake more and has been fussy with gas these past few days. I have tried about everything for the gas 2. Sorry about the appearance of this post as I am bumping from my phone.

We had newborn shots taken at 14 days which according to the photographer was "late".  Once they "wake up" and are aware it can be harder to pose them.  She kept kept the studio very warm and I had a bottle ready to keep feeding him to keep him serene. We only were there for about an hour. I am so glad we did it, he has changed so much already.

5 days for both DD & DS.

I was under the impression the best time for "newborn" photos was before they were 2 wks old. Not that you can't get cute photos though.

Thanks! I figured it would have been better to have had them done earlier but I live in a very small town and had a hard time finding someone. I hope they turn out cute anyway. I found him a cute hat and diaper cover on etsy.

DS was ten days old and that was the latest our photographer likes to do them. She said having him asleep was best because it is easier to pose baby. My LO was awake for parts and I had to put him to sleep. He was good and I was happy we had them done.

I had my little man's pics done around 2 weeks. I have a family friend who i've known for YEARS who's a professional photographer. When she found out I had LO she facebooked me askin if she could come over and take pics for free since she wanted to start photographing babies (she usually only does things like weddings and sr pictures or family pics). They turned out absolutely fabulous! LO was asleep for the first part then we wanted to get a few pics of him on a quilt our aunt made him and gave us after he was born so we could send a pic of him laying on the quilt to her as a thank you but as soon as we laid him on it he started crying (my son HATES having his clothes off). as soon as I dressed him and was holding him he was bright eyed and she got some amazing shots.
