Carseat question

I have a Toyota Corolla and my husband also has a small car. We have to make do until we can afford a new car. My question is, do the car seats go behind each seat or is one in the middle? I dont know where I heard the middle spot from... Thoughts??

    I think they would have to go behind each seat.  I don't think one would fit in the middle.

    DH and I both have Civics and the car seats fit behind the drivers and passengers seats.  I think when you have a singleton it's recommended that the car seat go in the middle.
