Anyone have a "mini convertible crib"?

We don't have room in #2's bedroom for a fullsize bed, so we'd eventually like to do a twin bed. I was thinking of buying another convertible crib, but from what I've been reading, you have to get a "mini convertible crib" in order to convert to a twin size.  Does anyone have one and do you have any opinions?  Are they really that mini?  Does a standard crib size mattress still fit?

Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a "mini convertible crib"?

  • i have one and it is working out.  they are really mini and do not fit standard mattresses or bedding.  a got a davinci model and they also sell a matress although there are othe brands.  the  bedding is a challenge. if you find bedding for a mini crib and not a portacrib it will fit the best.  portacrib bedding iseaszier  to  find but the sheets may not be deep enough.  in my experience carters is the only portacrib line deep enogh for my  mattress.  the only other isssue is you will have to transition to a bed earlier.  the limit is thirtyfive inches.  i think we will make it to eighteen months and my son is currently well above average height.

btw baby dream bedsz also convert to twin and are full sized.

    good luck
