I didn't/don't have ins. so I pay cash - no social worker. I would love to see a counseler, I think it's so helpful to talk to someone who is completely objective.
Mom to six awesome kids - Levi is 12, Landen is 8, Gabrielle is 6, Lucas is 3, and Oliver and Samuel are 2 years old. Love my crew.
I'm strictly on medication prescribed by my regular doc. My insurance doesn't require a therapist or counseling. I don't really seem to get much out of therapy, but I know that many people do.
I was started on meds when the babies were 2 months old and I stopped when they were 7 months old. They were prescribed by my OB/GYN. I did not have to see a counselor and I was not assigned a social worker. I don't think I would have been able to get out of the house to see a therapist.
I was put on meds right before my 6 week pp checkup. My insurance covered my meds and also counseling, but I never saw a social worker. I attended therapy up until a month ago. I would've liked to stay in therapy but it's just so hard to get a babysitter here and drive a half hour there and then a half hour back. Too big of a PITA, so now I'm just on the medication.
BTW-My OB/GYN let me decide if I wanted to see a counselor or not. Either way I was going to go on meds, but I chose to see a therapist as well.
