On Saturday, I moved my almost 2 yo DD to a booster seat at the table (so the baby could have the high chair). The good news is that she loves it and sat in it all weekend and pointed to the high chair and said her brothers name. But, her mess used to be so contained since the high chair tray is so large and now its all over.
Thoughts on splat mats? Is it worth it to have something to remove and shake off/clean off or just as easy to clean the floor?
What about place mats? She eats most things herself out of a bowl or off a plate, but she wanted some things on the table so I was thinking a placemat may be best.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Re: Splat mat and place mat for 2 yo?
We have this splat mat and I like it because it has a large area that it covers.
DS makes a huge mess still when he eats, and this catches just about everything. I normally just pick it up and shake it into the sink.
I'm now thinking about placemat thanks to you. It might make cleaning up a little easier....
We don't use either. We had this placemat for DS for a while, but he learned how to pull on the scoop to create a slingshot for his food.
Ultimately, I found it to be easier to just clean the table and the floor than to carry things to the sink to wash. I often didn't wash the placemat right away, so the next meal I'd either need to wash it or just go without. Eventually we just went without all of the time.
