So, we are having a girl...and I am not a fan of pink! I don't mind it in small doses but do NOT want a room full of pink. I really love a damask bedding set I have found on etsy but cannot justify spending $300 on a bedding set that will be used for a year and during that year most likely peed on, pooped on, spit up on, etc. Anyone have any suggestions? Or am I just being too picky??
This is the set I'm in love with...

Re: can't find any bedding i like...
Are you any good at sewing? It's not that expensive to make your own bedding set.
I'm not planning on using much apart from sheets so that's all I'm making, cute sheets. These would got for around 38 USD on etsy, my fabric for all the sheets I'm making cost around that!
So in with that ask yourself what you will be using, the sheet appears to be black so the Damask is on the bumper (most people don't use), the blanket (won't get used for a while) and the crib skirt (can only be used until baby starts to stand then will be too long).
Here is a link to a great tutorial for sheets.

Why not ask the seller to do a custom listing for just the crib skirt and maybe the blanket (depending on what you were planning to use the blanket for- some people never use it, others hang it, use it for tummy time or for themselves in the glider)? The bumper pads are unsafe and you could just buy some plain black, white, and/or aqua sheets at any store (you'll need more than the one sheet anyway).
Knocking the bumper pads and sheet off the set will dramatically lower the price.
I went on to babybedding.com and they have some damask bedding set. I think the prices may be in the same range but I figured that this type of bedding could be used for a while!? But I guess I forgot about all the poop, pee, and spit up that would be getting on it!
I know you're not a fan of pink but here is mine...it's pink and black but they also have a pretty Taupe colored damask.

Have you seen this bedding from Land of Nod:

This is the bedding we chose for our girls' bedding. We did green because I didn't want to do pink. But they also have it available in purple, blue and pink (you can order samples and the pink is definitely more of a mauvey color than light pink). It is a very nice quality and I think the price is very reasonable. We opted to only do the crib skirts, sheets and valances - which really helps with the cost.
I wasnt a fan of all the pink either once we started looking for our little girl. We decided on sweet sunshine by migi, they sell it at kohls online and was able to use a 30% off coupon so I got it down to about 120.00. this. i paid $200 for a set but i use a mesh bumper and my crib is so ornamental that you can't even see the doggone skirt. so basically all i'm using is the sheet anyway. these sets are more appealing than practical.
This set has a similar damask feel and you could accent with turquoise walls, sheet, etc...

I love damask and ended up with the Land of Nod With a Flourish bedding (in pink because I do like pink!). It is very pretty in person and I've accented the room with damask prints. I had a hard time finding anything in our price range as well. It's held up really well so far!
Walmart has a black and white damask set that is cute. I thought about it earlier on but then changed my colors. Don't know about the quality though.

I don't want a pink nursery, either, so I looooved this set when I found it:

There is *some* pink in it, but it reads mostly red to me. I plan on getting white furniture, painting the nursery turquoise, doing red accents (curtains, rug) & using some dark pink accessories (like changing pad, some wall art) just to tie it all together.
This isn't really in line with the more traditional style of damask, but thought you might find the red refreshing.
