This is my first baby, and I'd really like to purchase a sling for her. Please tell me -- What's your favorite sling? Why do you like it? Thanks!

Re: Sling input desired :)
I would recommend a wrap over a sling. It will be more comfortable for you and the baby will be more secure. I really liked the Moby and thought it was very easy to use. It was comfortable for me and DS liked it a lot too. He was fine being in there for extended periods and slept really well in it.
If you want to continue baby-wearing when LO gets heavier, you'll want to switch to a more structured carrier. I love my Ergo Sport but Beco is another great option. I would avoid Baby Bjorn carriers.

I second the wrap recommendation. It depends on how long you plan to wear your baby. If you are just looking to wear him/her while they are 15lbs or under go with a Moby. If you are looking to wrap them into toddlerhood I would start looking into woven wraps. They are more expensive but can be used for much much longer.
An Ergo or Beco is also good but not as versatile as a wrap. I also agree that the Bjorn is the worst choice.

No personal experience yet but instead of a sling I ordered a pouch from: www.rockinbabysling.com
I opted for the pouch over the ring sling because I liked that you could set it to a specific setting and then it was always ready to go. I got mine on sale and I liked that they were made in America.
I have a wrap, and I love it.
I ordered mine from www.beebymecouture.com
Yes ma'am, wrap is the way to go. I have a sling and a wrap, and LO hates the sling, as do I. She just doesn't look comfortable in it, and it really doesn't allow me to be as hands free as the wrap does.
Moby wrap is what you want!

Loved my Baby K'Tan for the first three months. It's a soft, wrap type sling.
Now, we love our B'Eco Gemini.
