Nursery Chairs

Im not sure what to get or where to get it from. My idea was a rocker/recliner for the nursery in beige. Well I cant find anything thats not crazy expensive. Could you girls tell me what type of nursery chair you are using. I dont like the wooden glider/ottoman. Im looking more for an upholstered ottoman or rocker /recliner. Need help please.

have you tried craigslist? especially becasue you're from a bigger city I bet you might find something there.  good luck!

We have a Best Tryp Chair and love it, but it probably fits into your definition of crazy expensive.  (We were able to use a 20% off coupon at BBB though). 

 

I agree PP's suggestion of checking craigslist, too.

It honestly depends what you mean by "crazy expensive". To us, the rocker-recliner was worth spending a little more because it will be used longer than anything else. Getting a "regular" rocker recliner and not something that screamed "nursery" meant it could be used in another room later. That being said, our "splurge" was a $450 Lazboy. We got the Melanie style which is priced at $650 online. We got this same fabric and color. https://www.la-z-boy.com/product/3368-7056/Melanie-Small-Biscuit-Back-Recliner/ I found that the stores were much cheaper than the online prices (so don't let them scare you) and not all lazboy stores even priced the same way. Ours was on sale for $499 and they were doing an extra 10% off. It honestly has MORE than paid itself off IMO. I haven't been able to sleep laying down or on my side since probably 20-some weeks! So I've been sleeping in it. It's so comfortable I don't even need a pillow and I can actually sleep through an entire night. I like that it has a lifetime warranty on the frame/mechanical parts. I found them more comfortable than the cheaper Ashley furniture recliners, which we originally thought we'd get as just kind of a throwaway for the nursery. I really liked Lazboy, Best, and Lane. I'm short though and it was really hard to find something not too big that I sat funny in it. So whatever you get, make sure you try it out and don't buy it sight unseen. I was completely shocked at how differently they all felt!

Also... since you're 38 weeks, you'll be able to take a lazboy home with you that day most likely if it's a stock color. Ours had TONS in the warehouse, we just got there too late and had to come back the next day. If you don't mind special ordering one that's fine, but I found a lot of them took quite a while.

We are getting the Best Quinn chair. I LOVE it! It is exactly what I wanted but it took us a while to find it. The first store we saw it at had it for $529 but we were able to find it at another store for $350. The chair is great, it will work well in our living room later so I don't mind spending a little more for it.

We found a traditional nursery rocking chair with some beautiful hand carving on the head board at craigslist for $100. I'd suggest searching there.

We use the wooden rocker that my mother got when she had me (I'm almost 32).  It rocks beautifull, and I keep a quilt on the side so my elbow doesn't go numb.

It's our chair.  We read stories in it, have before bedtime bottle in it, I sit in it and hang out while he plays.  It's wonderful.

I am looking at gliders from Walmart, Target and BRU...still have no idea what one I like but there are a lot of price points and style choices....

I got a Little Castle glider & ottoman from Buy Buy Baby and was able to use a 20% off coupon.

Little Castle also makes gliders & recliners for Walmart...sold under the name Enchanted.

I was looking for a more modern, clean line look that I can also use in the living room later. But if you're okay with a more traditional look...check out the recliners at Lazy Boy and Ashley -- they had good prices there.
