I am trying to decide what monitor to register for/buy. I am just looking for a basic one (no video or sensor pad), but I want a good one that doesn't get a lot of feedback and that is private (no transmitting conversations).
I know you said that you don't want a video, but just thought I would share. DH say on a news segment where the digital signals could be picked up from just a car driving by outside. The analog signals are harder to pick up. I didn't see the segment, he just told me about it. Something to think about!

I didn't see the report on it, but I have been thinking about this since DD was born. It freaks me out, so I always make sure to turn it off when it is not necessary to leave it on.
We have the Sony Baby Call and absolutely LOVE it. It's the highest rated in last years Baby Bargains book. I don't have the new version to see what they are recommending now.

We had the Graco iMonitor and loved it. We just upgraded to a dual video monitor so we have one monitor for both kids, but otherwise we would still be using it.
The Sony Baby Call is AWESOME. We never had a problem, and it has a setting where it'll come on only when there is a sound to broadcast. That's helpful, because you don't have to sit and listen to that staticy noise when there's nothing going on.
