Middle Name for Maxwell

We are set on the first name Maxwell, but are struggling to find the perfect middle name for our baby boy.  We would like to use a family name, so that is how we came up with the list below.  Our last name starts with the letter "S" in case that helps.  Thanks so much for your input:)

The only one that I distinctly do not like is Maxwell Samuel.

I kind of like Maxwell Witte, or Maxwell Ernest. They're not so common and flow nicely.

My vote would be for Maxwell Ernest, Maxwell Witte, or Maxwell Vern as they are not as common but still have meaning.

I wouldn't do the L mn's because it doesn't flow well to me. With the L at the end of the first name and the beginning of the middle name it seems like it goes against a flow when said out loud.
