pack n play ? (PIP)

I am thinking about registering for Graco pack n play with cuddle cove rocking seat in the Capri pattern.  I have done some research on line and read reviews and it seems like a good one, just wondering if anyone out there has it/plans on registering for one.  TIA!

Re: pack n play ? (PIP)

  • Yes, I put this on my registry. Can't say much about it though since I haven't had my shower yet. I like the cuddle cove rocker. I may use it as a bassinet in our room for the first few weeks.

  • I don't have that one, but if the rocker really does rock, I'd say it's a good idea. I have a cradle in our room that DS sleeps in, and I cannot tell you how invaluable it's been. Some nights within the first two months that was the only way to get him to sleep when he wasn't on my chest.

  • Just my personal opinion, but a plain old pack n play worked great for us. I heard a lot of people never used the changing station or the newborn napper so I got the plain one with the regular bassinet and it was all I needed. The nappers have such a tiny weight limit too, DS wouldn't have fit in it for long.

  • It's on my registry.  I plan on using the changing station when downstairs with the baby (nursery is upstairs).  I'm undecided about the newborn napper, but the option is there.

  • I purchased a Graco PNP without the newborn napper. It has a bassinet feature which DD sleeps in at night and the changing station is a lifesaver! I love not having to walk to the other side of the house to change her on her changing station at night.

  • I have it, I got a really good deal on it for when my nephews come down, and it is very nice, granted you probably won't use the sunshade much in the house!

  • I got this one on my registry too. I didn't really Want a newborn napper at first but I liked that this one could be taken out and used as a regular rock. I also like the colors.

  • I have the PnP with newborn napper and I love that thing!!! DD slept in the napper for 2 months and she slept so great in it. We used the changing table part for about a month, but then it seemed too flimsy as she was getting bigger. She was 9lbs 3oz at birth. When she was still waking every 2-3 hours at night, that changing table was awesome because I would change her while DH got her bottle ready and we wouldn't have to take her out into the bright kitchen and wake her up even more.

She's still sleeping in the bassinet part at night and the PnP is in our room so it's next to my side of the bed. We're working on naps in the crib, but we're not ready to fully move her over to the crib for bedtime yet, since her room is all the way on the other side of the house from our room.

  • We have a similar grace model and like it. LO slept in the basinet portion for awhile and I liked having the newborn seat to put him in when he was little. We never used the changing table attachment.
  • I actually have this one.

This is my 1st baby so I haven't used it yet and am not able to comment on its use. I chose to get it, however, because a friend suggested to get a pack n play for my bedroom for the 1st few weeks of baby being home.  So I liked the idea of baby being close to me with both the napper and the changing table.  I don't know how well this will work yet.

I do know when I put together everything, the rocker doesn't like rock on its own.  Its just made in a way that makes it easy to manually rock it when you take it out of the pack n play just FYI.

  • I loved having a napper. It was a lifesaver bc it is cozy which newborns like. DD slept great in it and we used it for 6 weeks. My friends without the mapper were jealous. And we bought the pnp specifically for the napper. She hated the openness of a cradle.

  • yep we have it.  I like it but beware that LO will outgrow the changing table and napper QUICKLY!  we don't even use the bassinet portion anymore and LO is only 4 months.  I believe the changing table only works for up to 8ish pounds.  I do like it and plan on keeping it for future LOs.  good luck!

My mother has this pnp at her house, and I don't care for it.  I find the attachments and "extras" to be a bit too specified.  The mattress is rather lumpy, and last time Bean slept in it , we had to rig it with blankets so he would be more comfortable.

We have the Chicco Lullaby Pnp, and I don't have a complaint about it.  the entertainment features are well-contained, the changer is easy to add & remove, it packs up easily, and there's always room in the travel case for our sheets & etc.  Bean sleeps very well on that mattress, although sometimes he gets an additional pnp mattress .

This is the one I got.  My grandmother bought it pretty early off of the registry.  I put it together by myself last weekend.  The cuddle cove can be easily removed and the changing table part comes off easily as well.  I like it alot!
