How did you do your local monitoring up until the point where you had to be near the practice leading up to ER/ET?
I went in to my RE's office this morning for CD3 b/w and u/s (just to keep a monitor on my levels...we're not cycling this month) and I asked the nurse there about doing my monitoring there if we end up going out to CCRM. She got kind of weird and said she'd have to ask the doctor when he's in on Thursday and said they'd have to call me back to let me know if I could do that.
I realize this may be kind of an awkward situation (like hi, I've done IUI's with you but don't want to do IVF with you so I'm going out of state) but at the same time, I have to get monitored SOMEwhere...I know places do it. Just curious what your experience was/is like!

I hope it's ok for me to post with my tickers. I went to CCRM but live in Florida. I didn't use the local clinic that I cycled with because we ended on bad terms. Plus, I had a few clinics closer to home. I called up a few and just asked them. I went with one and they had me pay a consult fee because I have to be a patient and then did bloodwork, ultrasounds, etc... for me. If I only needed bloodwork, I would go to labcorp! It was actually pretty easy.
I am going to my Ob/Gyn office for my local monitoring b/w and my baseline u/s. When I went in to talk to them about it they were very happy to hlp me.

We switched for financial reasons when we moved to DE. I told my RE at our WTF. He was completely fine with it and said I could keep doing my monitoring there. Turns out he is friends with my new RE, so I think that made it all a little easier.
Thanks for the responses...mm, I hadn't thought about just going to an OBGYN. I actually would need a new one of those, though, because the last time I went to an OBGYN it was a new person (so I had only seen her once) and that was...um.......May of 2009. So yeah, almost 2 years ago. I'd like to go someplace else when I know I'm going to be going there throughout (hopefully) a pregnancy and delivery.
firewife--It was K. I think that they just had a really busy morning though b/c when she called me back later in the day with my b/w and u/s results she brought up that she'd leave a note for Dr. J on my chart for him to look at Thursday. (I'm confused though b/c it's not like I'd ever see him...I'd only see the lady who does blood draws and the u/s tech!) We'll see.
