Are we supposed to drink a lot of water before the NT scan? My doctor didn't really mention anything. If we are, how much and how long before? I don't want to spend the entire ultrasound with a painfully full bladder.
They didn't mention anything to me either and I also called before to see if I needed to fast for the blood work, which I did not. I just made sure I did not pee for an hour before the u/s.
I had mine on Tuesday, and they didn't mention it to me and we had no problem seeing my jelly bean. I would assume if they didn't mention it as necessary then it's probably not. I was even told to "make myself comfortable" since I wouldn't be seeing the doctor when I went in for the appointment since you're supposed to go with a full bladder to my OB's office since they always do a urine test.
I was told by the scheduling person to "chug water on the drive up." She didn't give a specified amount. I think they jsut want something in your bladder.
"I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing."
I was told to drink 16 oz of water and 8 oz of juice an hour before the appointment. Slightly stressed about that because I know I am going to have to pee soooo bad!!
Re: Drink water before NT scan?
my read shelf:
This might be a "every doctor is different" situation.
I was told that I don't need to drink water, but that I shouldn't empty my bladder before my appointment.
