Anyone's DC ever have a plantar's wart?

I suspect DS has a plantar's wart. Dr. Google says to just let them be and they will disappear on their own. Looking for any real life experience from the nesties...

  • I had one for years and it never went away on its own. I had to do many rounds of treatment to get rid of it.

I have one that I have been trying to kill - it's cost me $$ at the specialist and they freeze it but nothing has killed it.  I haven't tried holistic but they say tea tree oil kills them or electrical tape (the big silver kind).  Basically if it gets oxygen it will stay there.  You have to suffocate it.

  • DD had one just a little while ago.  The dr said to get Duo Film and put on it for 6 days and put on the bandaid that comes with it, air out on day 7 then start all over again. But it got rid of it by day 5!  I went to Target for Duo Film and they didn't have it in stock, but they ordered it and it came in the next day.  It was around $6 if I remember correctly.

Thanks, I am going to try this.  DD1 actuall has two, one on the bottom of her big toe and one on her heal.  We have been using compound w, and just when I think that they are gone, it looks like they are coming right back.  Was hoping to find something else that would work.

  • DD just had one and the thing that worked the best was wrapping it in duct tape (and putting a band aid over it to make it pretty). Leave it on for a few days, if the wort is not gone, change the tape and leave it for a few more.
  • Nate had one. Took him to the doctors back in January and they confirmed that's what it was. I just went to look at earlier this week and it's gone. Weird! He did have some pain associated w/ it in the beginning, but it pretty much disappeared just as quickly as it popped up.

  • My middle child has one.  The pedi does not freeze them off because it hurts.  The wart is caused by a virus which is surrounded by hard dead skin.  The immune system does not recognize the virus because of the skin.  My pedi applies beetle juice (literally from a blister beetle) that causes a blister which penetrates the dead skin and in turn the immune system targets the exposed virus.
