DB is dead to me

DB finally called me toady and said that he WOULD NOT sign the papers so I could trade the car in. He had many evil things to say but his final "offer" was to have them stop making him pay child support and he would sign whatever I wanted him to. He also said that I took, DD so she is MINE.

I freaking hate that waste of space with every fiber of my being. I knew he was a selfish prick, but even this kinda surprised me.

but really he has to pay child support anyway.  at least in my state, there's no way to "waive" it.  so trick's on him! heh

I told him that I talked to the lady and she was going to see what she could do. Didn't work. And, no you can't "waive" the support. Now that it is going through tthe state he is stuck paying.

Worse case scenario is that I have to file a petition to be given "permission" to sell the car. He already told me that he wouldn't bother going to court if I did that. Basically he is being a pain in the a$$ because he can.

Was the car an issue with your divorce settlement?  Was there a stipulation that you needed to have his name off the car by a certain date?  I may be wrong but if he refuses to sign off on the vehicle could he be considered in contempt of court?

I don't have a law degree or anything, but if he refused wouldn't it make sense?

Sorry Peeps your going through this. I guess it goes to show us all that DB fathers come in all ranges! Isn't yours a police officer? I leaning more towards what BNB is saying though that there has to be around him signing it over.
