Layna is scared to poop. Its not from potty-training, we haven't even started that. She's gone on the potty a handful of times in the last year and she has no interest. I ask her to go on the potty and she says No.
But over the last week or so she's become scared of pooping. She's holding it in for a couple days and then will cry and scream when she can't hold it anymore. She's doesn't appear to be constipated (tmi warning) when she does poop its not hard or anything.
Anyone deal with this before?
Re: Scared to poop
DD started this ~15mos. What helped was making sure she was hydrated and fibered so it didn't hurt to go.
Part of it for us was hard stools and the other was not wanting to get a diaper change.
Megan went through something kinda similar but it was a week of so after she started using the potty. She would just hold it and poop every other day and I was worried she was scared to poop. It just passed in a week or two and I think she just needed time for all that was going on in her head with the potty learning and all.... But we did get these two books at the time in case it was that she was scared to poop:

I can honestly say I never thought I'd be reading my child a book and asking her "where's the poop" and she'd lift a flap and say "there it is"... yeah that was a first!
