More STTN bragging and question

So the past two nights my DD slept from either 8 or 9PM till about 6 AM!  I am afraid to get excited though, could it just be a fluke or could this be the start of something GREAT.

My son woke up once for a bottle last night and also STTN the night before.  When he woke up last night I couldn't get him back to sleep without feeding him, but he didn't even take the entire thing.
Is there something I can be doing to avoid this?

They are 12 weeks, and probably weigh around 10 pounds, are well is next week :)

Re: More STTN bragging and question

  • My guys didn't STTN until a month ago at 5.5 months. They just dropped their last feed then. At 12 weeks, we were still feeding them twice a night and they were both closer to 14lbs a piece. I would just continue to feed him at night if he wakes. He's only 12 weeks old so it's not beyond the realm of possibility that he's hungry. Lots of babies don't STTN consistenly until past 6 months. That being said -- the sleep is great isn't it?? I hope they continue to sleep long stretches for you! I would have died for mine to sleep longer than 4 or 5 hours at 12 weeks!

OK, great.  I am ok with feeding him but I just wasn't to make sure I wasn't forming a bad habbit- I haven't looked into sleep training much.  I just take there ques.  I didn't think I would have any nights feeding free until like 6 mts, so I am really appreciating these nights!

    THANKS

I was paranoid I was setting my guys up for bad habits too. Try not to worry about that so much. We never (and hope to never) had to sleep train during the night. We did for naps but that's a different story!

I will probably be looking to you for advice then because I get the feeling that is going to be us.  They already are having weird sleep habbits during the day but are sleeping very well at night for the past few weeks (usually only getting up once).

The morning seems to be filled with catnaps, they are at my MIL's in the afternoon while I am at work and from their "dinner bottle" (usually between 4 and 5) and their night bottle (usually around 8, 9 the latest)  they are VERY FUSSY and hardly sleep.
