My due date was Monday, went to the doc's today and I'm still just 1-2 cm dilated and about 60% effaced. They did an NST and everything is perfect, and my proteins and bp are fine too. I really REALLY don't want to be induced, since I'm still hoping to try for a natural birth. My doctor is on board with me going as far as 10 days overdue. At this point, I have an appt. scheduled for Monday when I'll be 41 weeks, and we'll probably schedule the induction for Wednesday if I need it (so I can have my regular doctor do it, she's not available Thursday). That would be 9 days past my due date.
Is anyone else still holding out and trying to let nature take over? I'm dying to have this baby girl out and in my arms, but I really do want to go on my own if I can. It's such a hard decision to make!!

I am 41 weeks today and plan to have my water broken on friday so 41 weeks 2 days. I am pretty dead set on a natural birth so I am hoping that I can avoid pit and any other drugs. But I am going for the induction because I know that there are some stats that show most positive outcomes for the baby at 41 weeks vs 42.
I had my first internal today and I have been contracting since so I am hoping maybe we still do it the natural way before friday.
I'm allowed to wait until 42w. I think I might plan for 41w3d or so.
Hoping I don't get there!!
I was 41 weeks and 4 days late with my daughter. I was given the option to induce at 40 or wait until 41 because all of my tests were normal. She had enough fluid and such. The only uncomfortable one was me. So, I figured why not wait it out for 41 weeks to see if mother nature would kick in. My boyfriend was a nervous wreck, constantly thinking is this it? Is this it? When is this baby going to arrive!? I on the other hand just focused on staying comfortable. I had terrible pain throughout my body. I have hip dysplasia, coupled with back pain, and pelvis pain. Not to mention being swollen beyond belief. Anywho...at 41 weeks they ran more tests. Although terribly uncomfortable, I was healthy and so was baby. They gave me another option to induce at 41 weeks and 4 days (which is when my doc was on call at the hospital). I chose to do so specifically because I wanted my doctor. My pregnancy wasn't always smooth sailing and having my doc gave me more peace of mind. She knew all of my health problems and birth plan.
At 41 weeks and 4 days I went into the hospital at 6pm for my scheduled induction. However, I went into labor naturally at 4 am that morning. The only reason I went in for the scheduled induction is because my contractions never regulated. I was in labor for 32 hrs total with 4 hrs of pushing. And thats with the Pitocin to try and regulate my contractions, which never really happened. My Tanner Faith was technically born at 41 weeks and 5 days.
All in all, I am glad that I waited it out. If you or baby aren't in any danger, why not? You've waited this long, whats a few more days to let mother nature run its course? I feel better knowing that I gave my body every chance to go into labor naturally, rather than jumping to conclusions that it would never happen for me. It may not have been a textbook labor, but it was MY labor.
