Traveling with DD tomorrow

6 hour car trip tomorrow (likely will be longer with stops).  DD is going on 7 months and this will be our first long trip.  Anyone have any advice for me or just encouragement?  I am terrified.

Don't be terrified. Our first wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Just be sure not to waste valuable driving time by stopping when she's sleeping. Stop only when awake! Ours also slept much better/longer in the car. We always had one of us sitting in the back to feed, entertain or stop a meltdown on the fly if necessary.

This is what works for me.  Dont tell yourself that it will take x time and you should be there by x time.  That way there is no pressure of running late should you need to stop more times than you would like.  It has helped to keep me relax.  

Also, have lots of toys for DD to play with and switch them out for her to play with.

We took a 5hr trip (plus stops) about a month ago.  If possible try to drive part of it during her regular nap time so she'll sleep at least part of the trip.  (We left the house right before DD's morning nap).  Take lots of her favorite toys with you.  When you do stop, try to get some fresh air and walk around a bit.  I saw in another post that someone suggested taking a picnic blanket with you and let LO roll around/crawl around on the ground outside when you stop.  Make sure you have your diaper bag easily accessible and take a roll of paper towels just in case.  We changed DD's diaper on the floor or seat of the van instead of in the rest stop bathroom.  Make sure you have bottles for LO, and food & drinks for yourself so you don't have to waste travel time buying lunch.  Good Luck, don't worry it won't be as bad as you think.
