I HAD a short LP a few months before I got my BFP but corrected it with b6 and b12. THe cycle before my BFP my LP was 13.5 days. (And btw, 13 days is a normal LP, a short LP is anything less than 10, and possibly short/ possibly long enough LP is 10-12 days, and a good LP is 13+ days.)
Either way, I got my first BFP at 10 DPO. I tested at 8 & 9 DPO as well, but both were negative.
It doesnt matter as much if you have a short LP as to when you can test (though you MIGHT implant earlier if you do), what matters is WHEN your egg implants because your body doesnt start producing HCG until that point.

I have an 11 day LP. I got a + at 10 dpo, so not early.
10 DPO is early The "average" is 12-14DPO.
Yes and no. Most women dont chart and therefore do not know how many DPO they are. So they go by when they expect their period. This is why the "average" for HPT's is generally at 12-14 days. This is not to say that women who DO chart wouldnt get a later +. But 10 DPO isnt THAT early. I believe it's typically the earliest without being a crazy cool person that gets a BFP on 8 or 9 DPO.

A LP less than 13 days is not considered short, FYI. A 10-day LP is long enough to get pregnant, but anything less than that is a LP defect.
My average LP is 11 days (I've charted for about a year and a half), and I got my bfp at 8DPO. I'd imagine it has less to do with the length of your LP and more to do with when the embryo implants and how long it takes for your body to start producing hCG.

My chart is in my siggy. FF kept changing my O date. So either I got a positive at 11DPO or 7DPO. 11 being more likely. My LP is 11. Always 11. I don't think you'd get an earlier BFP based on a short LP phase. All the rest of the physiology still happens normally - it's just that our bodies start gearing up for AF sooner.

I have a 9 day LP, had my BFP at 10 DPO (the day I expected my period). I had very early pregnancy symptoms that were apart from any PMS I have ever felt. Extreme fatigue, unusual gas, and an increase in appetite (mine tends to plummet as AF approaches). I also tracked my BBT and had an implantation dip at 9DPO. Hope this helps!

I have a 10 day luteal phase, and I actully got a negative on an earlier test before getting my positive later. Best of luck
