Solids question

So we started feeding A some squash this week. I started with just feeding her solids once a day right before bedtime.  How often should I feed her solids? Should I be feeding her them more than once a day?

How old is she? Really it's pretty much totally up to you. Our pedi told us to go ahead with 3 "meals" a day at 6 months, but that just meant that we were offering her solids 3 x a day. Basically it just increased her exposure. We didn't really care how much she actually ate.

I will say that you might think about offering any new foods earlier in the day. If she happens to have an allergic reaction to something, it might be harder to catch through the night than during the day.

I started out just once a day, then I gradually fed her more and more. Honestly, I didn't go by anything, I just did what I felt/thought was right.

We also started out with once a day, and now we are up to 3 meals a day.  And we do new foods in the morning as well just in case she has an allergic reaction.  I have found the "Super Baby Food" book helpful, but I'm not doing it all to the letter.  I've used it more for recommendations and tips on ways to make things easy, rather than following it exactly.

With Baby N, I've let her determine the schedule.  We started with 1x per day and then as she showed more interest, we increased it.  We just watched how she responded and when she seemed to be wanting more.  (You'll be able to tell.)  We didn't get to 3 meals a day until she was 8 months (didn't start solids until 6ish).  Now she's almost 10 months and is eating mostly table foods.  There is no right or wrong way to do it.  Go with what works for you all and your little one.
